Excitement abounds as our own NCA Flying Geeks prepare to fly to Bodo, Norway to compete in the 2007 European Championship on May 19th & 20th.
The Geeks competed in Worcester Mass. this past Saturday, May 5th and submitted a compelling win there. This was their last competition before changing focus to preparing and packing for the European Competition next week.
The Geeks will travel from Boston to London, this weekend for 2 days of sightseeing, and then arrive in Bodo, Norway on Wednesday May 16th. Their they will enjoy a fast-paced schedule of surprise missions, A parade celebrating Norwegian national day along with all the schools in Bodo, opening ceremonies and the competition which start on Saturday May19th.
Below is a schedule of their events. The opening matches will be broadcast on the internet here.
Saturday, May 19th
11:24am Bodo time (5:24am Nashua) Research judging.
12:15 pm (6:15am Nashua) we have our first match at the table. (These matches will be webcast, see above)
At 1:40pm (7:40am Nashua) we have our Technical judging.
At 2:20pm (8:20am Nashua) we have our second round at the tables.
Sunday, May 20th
9:00 am (3:00am Nashua) we have our Teamwork judging.
10:50am (4:50am Nashua) we have our last match at the table unless we make it to the finals.
12:30pm (6:30am Nashua) the Playoffs start. The top 16 teams will compete and it appears that they will take the top 8 from there. After that,it is unclear if the competition is head to head or continues to take the top teams.
2:25 pm (8:25 am Nashua) Awards ceremonies.
Everyone returns home on Monday May 21st. leaving Bodo at 7am and not arriving in Boston till 6:30pm or later.
Please remember to pray for the team and the leaders as they travel and represent NCA over the next week. The Geeks ask that God would be glorified through them.
